Connection keeps dropping out
Random dropouts are usually one of these four things.
- 1
Note when it happens
Same time each day? During rain? When the phone rings? Patterns help. Jot down the last few dropouts before calling.
- 2
Rule out Wi-Fi vs connection
When it “drops”, check the modem lights. If the internet light stays green, it’s a Wi-Fi issue inside the house, not the connection.
- 3
Bypass your gear
If you have a spare or BYO modem, try it for a day. If dropouts stop, the modem’s the culprit, and we can advise a replacement.
- 4
Log it with us
Frequent dropouts at the network level need a fault ticket. Send us your notes and we’ll lodge it and chase it for you.
